Privacy policy.

This is a small, personal practice, and I treat your information the way I would want mine treated: carefully, sparingly, and never for sale. This page explains what I collect, why, and the choices you have.

Who I am

This website, averycollura.com, is run by Avery Collura, a grief coach, teacher, and writer based in Colorado. If you have any question about your information, you can reach me anytime at avery@averycollura.com.

What I collect

I only collect what you choose to give me. That generally means:

  • Your name and email address, when you join the newsletter, the grief group waitlist, or send a message through a form on this site
  • Anything you write to me in a message or reply
  • Basic, anonymous usage information your browser shares automatically, such as the pages you visit and the kind of device you use, so I can understand what is helpful

I do not ask for, or store, sensitive personal or financial details on this site. Payments for the Patreon membership are handled entirely by Patreon, and I never see your card information.

How I use it

  • To send you the newsletter and updates you asked for
  • To let you know when a grief group, retreat, or book is opening
  • To reply to you when you reach out
  • To understand, in broad strokes, how the site is being used so I can improve it

I will never sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone. Ever.

The tools I use

To run this practice I rely on a few trusted services, and your information may pass through them only so they can do their job:

  • Squarespace, which hosts this website
  • HighLevel (LeadConnector), which manages my forms, contacts, and email
  • Patreon, if you choose to join the membership, under their own privacy policy
  • Meta (Instagram and Facebook), if you arrive through one of my ads, which may use cookies to measure whether the ad was helpful

Each of these has its own privacy practices, and I choose them because they take that responsibility seriously.

Cookies

This site uses a small number of cookies to keep it working properly and, if you came from an ad, to understand whether that ad reached the right person. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time, and the site will still work.

Your choices

  • You can unsubscribe from any email with the link at the bottom of it, anytime
  • You can ask me what information I hold about you
  • You can ask me to correct it, or to delete it entirely

Keeping it safe

I keep your information only as long as it is useful to you and to this work, and I take reasonable care to protect it. No website can promise perfect security, but I will never be careless with what you have trusted me to hold.

Children

This site and this work are intended for adults. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen.

Changes

If this policy changes, I will update the date at the top of this page. Meaningful changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
